Holiday Inn Club Vacations Galveston Seaside Resort, an IHG Hotel

I didn’t like the discussion of time share right at checkin. I was also upset the hotel pool was misleading online. There were two facilities holiday inn across the street from each other. I thought I was staying at the facility with the upgraded swimming pool but I no. Also, our room was open when we arrived. Not sealed shut as they said it would be at checkin. Also the room smelled moldy.

The reset is beautiful, but unfortunately at check in we waited 30 minutes before being able to get to our room. I was on time and I booked the resort 4 days in advance. I don’t understand why my room and paperwork were not ready. I would never check out 30 minutes late so I don’t understand why my room wasn’t ready. Also, 30 minutes be fore check out time, the house keeper just walks in to our room, sees us, and walks out, there’s a doorbell use it please. One of the ladies working never had a mask on neither checking in or at checkout. That was a little unsettiling.

Property was really unique because you are facing the beach, the signature villas was amazing but service was really low. We ran out of toilet paper and it took them one day to provide. One of the bathrooms smelled funny at times like a minor sewage smell on the first floor. The pool was not crowded and beautiful. The property was right next to the beach which is good for families with small kids.

A couple light bulbs were out. One above the bed snd the entrance. Nothing big. The nosquities were really bad this trip, but not sure the club can do much about that after a big storm hits. Otherwise the property seemed well kept amd comfy. Don’t advertise the signature club amenities unless you post a warning about them.

I was hesitant about booking because of mixed reviews until I realized many who were not happy didn’t realize they had to book a Signature room to get some of the desired amenities. We had an ocean front 2 bedroom signature villa. I can’t say enough how much we enjoyed this property. The view of their ocean and easy access to beach was all we really wanted for this short trip. The house is beautifully decorated, fully stocked, very clean, roomy! If we ever return to Galveston, we will definitely stay here again. The signature rooms are worth the extra $$.

Whelp

Wasn’t the place we thought we were going. First thing we got was a sales pitch for a time share. He was pushy but we just said no. The building we were in was a presidential and “sought after,” per the sales pitch, with beautiful sunsets over the bay from the balcony. Well we couldn’t sit on the balcony due to the swampy land outside with standing water below us, which smelled bad and there were tons of mosquitos due to that. The beach was across the street, so we had to drive wherever we went. The final straw was the dried up boogers that were stuck on the head of one of the beds. It was disgusting. We told the front desk and showed the picture, but they didn’t seem very concerned. Won’t go back to this place.

Mini getaway

We got the older side. No washer and dryer. The kitchen was tiny. But we made it through! Beds werre comfortable. The oower had went out for like an hour or kittle over and hot. It was 🔥 HOT. But we got through it. Im glad they opened the arcade for us to go and enjoy. We did all the activities. FYI: The pool picture and the amenities it showsni. Google are NOT correct. Those are only for Signature stays across the street. That should be stated somewhere on the site.

It was nice. The AC wasn’t working in one of our rooms but called and they had it fixed ASAP. If you’re looking to stay on the beach and have access to the infinity pool over the beach you have to get the signature villa. Overall it was nice.

The staff was awesome, the accommodations were more than what was expected! Will be staying again!

Staff was friendly and approachable, only real concern was need for repair and/or renovations.
