Cottage "Rio Lobo Cabin" at Southwest NM Ranch, Along Creek!

Alan and Debbie are very nice and have a great group of cabins on their ranch. Their son, Chris was right next door to deal with any problems. The whole place was extremely quiet and restful. It's out of town a ways (about 30-40 min. from Silver City). The road the last 3-4 miles is dirt, but well maintained. We enjoyed our month there very much.

We had a good stay. Not far from Silver City or Cat walk. Very tranquil settings. Would have hiked from the place but rain kept us from that. Views were great. Everything was really clean and comfy.

This cabin was perfect for our short get away. I was running on empty and the beautiful area, the quiet, the stars were just what we needed. Comfy bed and everything we could need in the kitchen. Gila catwalk hike is not too far away and there is great hiking on the property as well. I highly recommend this property.

This is an amazing place to stay if you are looking for peace and quite. We stayed in the Rio Lobo cabin and it is very nice with a comfortable bed. The ranch is beautiful. You are allowed to hike or walk anywhere on the ranch. The stream is very nice but you don't see it from the cabins. Debbie and Allen are very nice and accommodating. If you need anything or have any questions don't hesitate to contact them. Our cell phones did not have service. But not a problem. For your cell phone to work you have to connect to their WIFI network. Then you are good. Also, there is a phone in the cabin. One thing that was confusing when we arrived our reservation said we were in the Ranch Cottage. In fact it was called the Rio Lobo Cabin. We were confused when we arrived but luckily Alan arrived at the office shortly after we arrived at the ranch. He called Debbie to see which cabin we were booked for. Another couple arrived and their reservation said cabin 57. They aren't numbered. If you book through VRBO be sure and contact Debbie and Alan to see what the name of your cabin actually is because the names don't seem to match what VRBO puts on your reservation confirmation. Also, when you arrive you just go to your cabin because it is open for you. You won't know which cabin based on the information provided by VRBO. All in all, my husband and I loved the place and plan to go back for a longer stay next time. Don't look to be entertained, it's not that kind of place which was perfect for us. Also, plan carefully and take basically everything (food) that you think you need or want for your stay. It is a bit isolated but that was what we wanted. You won't believe how quite it is. No traffic noise at all. You can hear the birds and the wind in the trees. Beautiful.

The Rio Lobo Cabin was wonderful. Cozy and warm for a rainy Fall stay. There was a covered deck where one could sit outside even with the rain. A nice fire burning inside if it was cold. Wonderful walks. Birds everywhere. I highly recommend coming to stay. I hope I can come back sometime
